Between 2023 and 2024, southern Spain suffered a historic drought. Reservoirs dried up, crops failed, and Seville’s signature green began to fade.
Real Betis, known for its environmental values, made a statement. The team replaced its iconic green jersey with a cracked-earth brown version. The reveal happened during a match focused on awareness, where the club also measured football’s water footprint for the first time.
